The image plane of many telescopes is not plane, but curved. This results in a picture that has its optimal focus only in the center of the field of view - the edge of the field is out of focus and thus unsharp. The human eye is able to accomodate most of this but a camera will show stars that get increasingly unsharp towards the edge of the field. However, the image is always displayed laterally reversed as well as upside down, which makes no difference when observing the sky.
